Electric fences with long lengths can only function with good conductive fence wires. When using 2.5 mm thick steel wires, fence lengths of up to 120 km are conceivable in practice for 4-wire fences without grass cover. If only single-wire fencing is used with the same wire, the maximum possible length is reduced to 30 km.
If you only use a compact stranded wire with 6 x 0.20 mm Ă stainless steel conductors, the maximum possible fence length is reduced to 250 m. If the fence is overgrown, these figures can be significantly reduced. The fence conductors must be carefully selected according to the planned fence length and the expected vegetation situation.
