You can insure the following risks with us:

Accident

Physical impairment caused by a sudden, external impact, the cause of which is accidental. Poisoning is also insured.

Example: Your cat runs in front of a car or your dog falls during a hike, breaks a leg and needs an operation.

Not insured are: Accidents as a result of illness; consequential costs of accidents that occurred before the insurance came into force.

Illness

Any change in the state of health determined by a veterinarian that requires medical treatment.

Example: If an inflammation of the ureters makes medical intervention necessary.

The following are not insured: Diseases, ailments, deformities and infirmities that exist at the time the insurance is taken out; infectious diseases if the animal has neither been vaccinated nor periodically revaccinated; hereditary diseases and behavioural disorders, psychotherapeutic treatments; dental care services and tartar treatments, costs in connection with pregnancy and birth, castration or sterilization, unless they have been approved in advance as illness-related; all feed and feed supplements.

What costs does our pet insurance cover and what options are available?

Outpatient or inpatient treatment costs for injured or ill dogs and cats by a qualified veterinarian. This includes surgical procedures, radiological and radiotherapeutic treatments, laboratory and X-ray diagnostics, medication, the costs of staying at the veterinary clinic or veterinary practice and emergency transportation costs up to CHF 100 per event.

The following additional costs are also insured:
The costs of any necessary euthanasia and cadaver destruction.

Basic cover: 80% of the treatment costs and other costs, up to a maximum of the agreed sum insured.
Basic and supplementary cover: 100% of the treatment costs and other costs, up to a maximum of the agreed sum insured. In addition, treatment costs for alternative and complementary medicine are insured up to CHF 400 per event, up to a maximum of 3 events per year. This includes treatment for homeopathy, acupuncture, physiotherapy, osteopathy and chiropractic.

In the event of illness, a waiting period of 30 days applies from the start of the insurance.

Not insured are Surgical interventions that do not result in a significant and lasting improvement in the animal's state of health as well as costs for cremation and burial.

Further information

  • The animals can also be insured only against accident or only against illness - at a correspondingly lower rate.
  • Once accepted, animals can remain insured for the rest of their lives.
  • Dogs from the age of three months up to the age of four.
  • Cats from the age of three months up to the age of six.
  • The deductible of 200 or 500 francs and
    the sum insured of 2 000, 3 000, 4 000 or 5 000 francs are freely selectable. The sum insured is the maximum amount that Mobiliar will pay out in the event of a claim. It is calculated per accident or illness.
  • The premium does not become more expensive as the age of the animal increases.
  • The insurance is valid at home and worldwide for 24 months for temporary stays and trips.
  • The household and buildings insurance service package is included.
