Power is supplied by 4 x AA batteries (included) or by an external power supply. The electric strike is designed for connection to an external DC power supply. The connection is located behind the rubber plug on the bottom right-hand side of the device and the power supply must be between 6 and 12 volts direct current with an output of 1 ampere. The socket is positive in the middle and compatible with a 2.1 mm DC plug. Alternatively, you can use a USB cable (manufactured by ChickenGuard itself and not included) with the same plug.
