Separate feeding and lying areas for cows are now the norm in most newly planned barns. However, there are always construction situations in which this separation is not possible due to lack of space. These include old barns, especially tie stalls that are to be converted. But some new buildings in narrow, mostly mountainous locations also lack the necessary space. Here, cubicles are often the only way to set up loose housing and offer the cows the cow comfort they need today. Cubicles can only be set up as high stalls.
