Our terrarium sand is a low-dust substrate specially developed for desert-, savannah- and steppe-dwelling reptiles, invertebrates and small mammals. The grain size of the sand supports the natural burrowing behavior of many species and the rounded particles reduce the closing effect on the animals' skin.

Reptiles, amphibians, insects and other invertebrates are cold-blooded and need warmth from their environment as they do not have a constant body temperature. Our terrarium sand has a high heat storage capacity and is therefore particularly pleasant for your animals.

Terrarium sand is particularly important for ectothermic organisms that produce little or no heat, such as insects, reptiles and fish. Many of these organisms undergo significant changes in their body temperature and are poikilothermic. The choice of terrarium sand is therefore of great importance.
