More and more dogs are suffering from a vitamin deficiency, which can have a negative effect on the health of your beloved four-legged friend. Vitamins are vital for dogs as they control metabolic processes and cannot be produced by the dog itself. Medidog's multi-vitamin and vitamin B tablets counteract this. With their 15 vitamins and vital substances, these tablets provide your dog with everything it needs for its daily requirements. The vitamins are obtained from brewer's yeast and Arctic krill, so that only natural ingredients are included. Medidog also avoids the use of magnesium salts, trans fats, saturated fats and preservatives during production.

An overview of some of the most important vitamins:

Vitamin A: It keeps the skin and mucous membranes healthy, protects against infections and is important for growth, fertility and vision.

Vitamin D: It is essential for building bones and keeping the skeleton healthy. A deficiency can lead to bone deformation in growing dogs and to bone weakness in adult dogs.

Vitamin E: It has various protective functions in the body and ensures fertility and normal pregnancy.

Vitamin K: Necessary for normal blood clotting. It is produced by microorganisms in the dog's intestines and does not need to be fully absorbed through food.

Vitamin B1 (thiamine): A deficiency leads to loss of appetite, weight loss, movement disorders, vomiting and heart disorders. This vitamin is easily destroyed by heat, which is why it is added to high-quality ready-made food. In home-made food, it should be supplemented with nutritional yeast, for example. Raw fish and shellfish should be avoided as they contain a substance that destroys thiamine.

Vitamin B6: It is essential for protein metabolism. A deficiency can lead to the formation of oxalate stones in the urine. A high-protein diet and a lack of essential fatty acids generally increase the need for vitamin B6. A vitamin B6 deficiency leads to loss of appetite, impaired growth and can even lead to anemia.

Biotin: A lack of biotin can lead to skin inflammation and hair loss. A deficiency only occurs if raw egg white is fed over a longer period of time, as it contains a substance that binds the biotin and can no longer be absorbed by the dog.

Vitamin C: Vitamin C does not need to be supplied via the food, as the dog produces sufficient amounts of this vitamin itself. Only in the case of infectious diseases can an additional supply be useful.
