Dennerle Water Test 6in1. The Dennerle Water Test 6in1 is an instant test for the 6 most important water values: pH value, carbonate hardness, total hardness, nitrite, nitrate, chlorine. Very easy to use: Dip in, read off and you're done!
- The pH value in water is one of the most important criteria for the balance between acids and bases. Fish, plants and microorganisms react extremely sensitively to sudden changes in this balance. The ideal pH value should therefore be between 6.5 and 8.5, depending on the fish species.
- The carbonate hardness (KH) acts as a pH buffer and prevents sudden drops in pH in the water. The KH value influences the health of fish, plants and especially important microorganisms. The ideal KH value for ornamental fish is between 3 and 10° dH.
- The total hardness (GH) of the water is formed by various ions such as magnesium and calcium. The GH value influences the health of fish, plants and especially important microorganisms. The optimum GH value for ornamental fish is between 6 and 16° dH.
- Organic substances containing nitrogen, such as food residues and fish excrement, are broken down in the water and lead to harmful decomposition products. A nitrite content of more than 0.3 mg per liter is harmful to your aquarium or pond fish in the long term and promotes algae growth.
- Although nitrate is beneficial for plant growth, too high a nitrate content in the aquarium or pond water, over 50 mg per liter, is harmful to your aquarium or pond fish and can lead to uncontrolled algae growth.
- Provides important information about the chlorine content of the water. Too high a value is harmful to the beneficial bacteria and therefore also to the well-being of your aquarium or pond fish.
