Swisspet's deterrent spray for cats helps to break the habit of unwanted behaviors such as damaging objects. The product works by creating an unpleasant odor for cats, causing them to stay away from surfaces and objects that have been sprayed with the spray. Over time, your pet will associate the unpleasant odor with certain areas and automatically avoid them so that you no longer need to continue spraying these areas.

The spray contains citronellal and geraniol. Citronellal is extracted from the citrus plant and is often used in fragrances due to its citrus flavor. Geraniol is a so-called monoterpene alcohol and is usually known as a component of essential oils. It is a colorless to yellowish liquid with a pleasant odor. The liquid is often used as a fragrance in the perfume industry, as an active ingredient for insect repellents and occasionally for aromatherapy applications. For the sensitive nose of cats, this scent smells too strong, which is why they stay away from the scent center.

These two substances are purely plant-based active ingredients, so there is generally no risk of allergies or reactions. Another advantage of this product is that it can also keep away pests such as ticks or mosquitoes. However, it does not offer 100% insect protection and should not be applied directly to the animal's skin.

Shake well before use. The areas to be treated should be clean of urine and feces. Spray the area from a distance of approx. 30 cm. Sensitive objects and plants should not be sprayed directly, instead you can spray a cloth and hang it on the area. In case of heavy soiling and warm weather, the process should be repeated 1-2 times a day. The material compatibility should be checked on an inconspicuous area.
